On March 15, 2004, Abdallah Qur’an, an 11-year-old sixth grade Palestinian school student from Balata refugee camp (near Nablus), was detained at an IDF roadblock in Hawara (south of Nablus) in an attempt to transfer a bag containing an explosive charge. The charge was detonated by an IDF force stationed at the roadblock, and the boy was released after a brief questioning.
